In the next 24 hours, the trend of heavy rainfall may decrease in the southeast, eastern and adjacent uplands of the country. The flood situation of Feni, Comilla and Chittagong districts of Muhuri, Feni, Gomti, Halda etc. in the lower areas along the rivers will initially be stable and will improve later.
This was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief on Thursday.
In addition, it has been informed that the flood situation in Moulvibazar and Habiganj will remain stable in the next 24 hours.
It has been said that the trend of heavy rainfall may decrease in the north-eastern region of the country and the adjoining upstream. At this time, the flood situation in the lower areas along Manu, Khoai, Dhalai rivers of Moulvibazar and Habiganj districts may improve initially from stable.
At the same time, the water levels of the main rivers in the north-eastern and eastern regions are increasing.
So far 10 districts have been affected by the floods. These are – Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brakshanbaria, Sylhet and Lakshmipur.
More than 5 lakh 86 thousand families have become water-tight in these districts. More than 36 lakh 45 thousand people have been affected.
A total of 2,246 shelters have been opened for water-bound people, the disaster ministry said.
It is also informed that a total of 492 medical teams are operational to treat the victims of ten districts.
