27 people have lost their lives so far in the ongoing floods in the eastern part of Bangladesh due to heavy rains and landslides coming down from India upstream.
This information was given in a media briefing by the government regarding the flood situation.
Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq-e-Azam and representatives of army, student movement spoke in the briefing.
At this time it was also informed that currently the number of districts affected by floods is 11. In these districts, there are 12 lakh 7 thousand 429 families in water-logged condition.
The total number of people affected by the flood is 56 lakh 19 thousand 375 people.
