Iran has appointed a woman as its government spokesperson for the first time. Fatemeh Mohajerani is the woman appointed as the spokesperson of the Iranian government.
He was informed about his appointment during the Cabinet meeting. Tehran Times and NDTV reported this information in separate reports on Thursday (August 29).
According to the report, Fatemeh Mohajerani has been appointed as the new spokesperson of the Iranian government by the country’s President Masoud Pezeshkian. Iranian media reported that President Pezeshkian made the appointment at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday
Fatemeh Mohajerani was born in Arak in 1970, according to the Tehran Times. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh Campus.
She served as the head of the Technical and Vocational Training University of Sharia (for women) in Hassan Rouhani’s government. In addition, in 2017, Mohajerani was also elected as the head of the Center for Brilliant Talent.
Iran appointed Fatemeh Mohajerani as government spokesperson for the first time to a woman in this position. And for this reason, Mohajerani’s appointment is considered historic.
In addition to this appointment, former Iranian parliamentarian Elias Hazrati was appointed as the chairman of the government’s information council in a cabinet meeting.
However, this is not the first time that a woman has been appointed to a top government position in Iran under the current government. Earlier, President Pezeshkian last week appointed Sheena Ansari as Iran’s vice president and head of the environment department.
