BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas said that if Awami League does not create unrest then BNP will never create unrest. He said, the establishment of BNP is for the purpose of peace. And the establishment of Awami League for looting. BNP never believes in theft and looting.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the beginning of BNP’s padayatra program at the town hall intersection of Mymensingh city on Saturday (February 18) afternoon.
Mymensingh Metropolitan BNP organized a march program to demand the release of Begum Khaleda Zia along with reducing the price of essential commodities including oil, gas, rice, pulses, electricity and 10-point demand.
He said, this movement of BNP is not to come to power. This movement is aimed at the liberation, peace and smile of the people of this country.
Mirza Abbas warned that elections should be held under the caretaker government. Democracy of Bangladesh must be freed. The people of this country should be allowed to speak. Voting rights should be returned. Whoever wins there will go to power. BNP will not make that election to come to power.
‘There is no friend on BNP’s side’ – In response to Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader’s comment, a member of the Standing Committee of BNP said, ‘We have no master outside the country, we have friends. And if there are no friends outside the country, then there is no need. The common people of the country are friends of BNP.
Convener of Mymensingh Metropolitan BNP Professor AKM Shafiqul Islam also spoke under the chairmanship of BNP Chairperson Advisory Council Member Advocate Fazlur Rahman, Party Organizing Secretary Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Joint Organizing Secretary Advocate Shah Wares Ali Mamun, Shariful Alam.
Metropolitan BNP senior joint convener Abu Wahab Akand moderated. After the speech, the march started from the Town Hall, passed through New Bazaar, Amlapara and ended at the BNP office at Gangadas Guh Road. Leaders and activists of BNP and affiliated organizations participated in it.
