Bangladesh’s chief advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus held separate bilateral meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the UN headquarters on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session on Tuesday.
Chief Advisor of Bangladesh. Yunus spoke on the same stage as former US President Bill Clinton at the meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative 2024.
On the sidelines of the UNGA session, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva also met the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh.
Professor Yunus also attended a high-level side event on the Rohingya crisis at the UN headquarters in New York.
Later, he addressed a reception organized at the United Nations headquarters to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh’s membership in the United Nations.
Earlier in the day, Professor Yunus had a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden in New York.
This is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that a US President met with a head of government of Bangladesh on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
