The Dhaka-Chittagong highway has become completely immobile due to the complete shutdown program of the agitators demanding reform of the quota system. No vehicles are moving on this highway. Working people are in trouble. Many have walked to work.

A crowd of working people can be seen at the signboard area of ​​Narayanganj at around 9:30 am on Thursday. Many people reported suffering due to lack of vehicles. However, there was no anger between them.

Yusuf Aziz works in a private company in Motijheel. He said that he left on foot due to lack of vehicles.

He said, “If the government accepts the demands of the students, we will not suffer anymore.”

Jobber Aslam Shikder said, ‘I left the house without knowing that the vehicle would run on the road. Now I see that not a single rickshaw is running. Hard to go to work.’

Students have been staying in various areas including Matuail, Rayerbagh, Jatrabari since morning. Vehicular movement on the highway was completely stopped due to their blockade. Members of the law and order forces were seen patrolling the highway signposts, beehives, Chittagong Road and other places.

After investigation, it is known that no vehicle is able to leave Dhaka due to the barricade in the Rayer Bagh section of the highway. As a result many cars are stuck. Among them, the number of cargo vehicles is more. There are also long-distance buses, CNG-powered autorickshaws. On the other hand, no vehicles are able to enter Dhaka due to barricades in Matuail Medical area.

Protesters have been protesting on the highway since morning. They are protesting by burning tires and wood on the highway. At this time, sticks are also seen in their hands.
