China Air has launched a direct flight from Dhaka to Beijing, China. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Farooq Khan commented that it will add a new dimension to the expansion of trade between the two countries.
He said, ‘Dhaka-Beijing direct flight will add a new dimension to the expansion of trade between the two countries. This flight is a sign of friendship, cooperation, development and growing connectivity between Bangladesh and China.
He said, ‘As a result of the launch of this flight, our country’s people, businessmen and students will be able to travel directly to Beijing. Apart from this, benefits can be found in other businesses including tourism.’
He said this in the speech of the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of the inauguration of Air China direct flight on Dhaka-Beijing-Dhaka route at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday (July 10).
He also said, ‘Those who don’t want development are lying about connectivity. They want to keep the country isolated. They forget that connectivity means development, connectivity means commerce. The more the connectivity increases, the more benefits the people and businessmen of this country will get.’
Farooq Khan said, ‘Currently there are direct flights to Kunming and Guangzhou in China. Dhaka-Beijing direct flight of Air China started on Wednesday. China Southern Airlines flights will start on the same route on July 15. In the future, direct flights will be launched from Dhaka to more new destinations in China. The connection will increase further.’
