Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury gave this information in a press conference organized by the Ministry of Education at the Secretariat on June 5.
This time, the total number of candidates for HSC/Alim/HSC (BM/BMT) HSC(Vocational)/Diploma in Commerce examination of nine General Education Board, Technical Education Board and Madrasa Education Board is 14 lakh 50 thousand 790 people. Out of this number of students are seven lakh 50 thousand 281 and female students are seven lakh 509.
This time there are two thousand 725 centers and nine thousand 463 educational institutions.
This time, the statistics of nine general education boards showed that the total number of candidates was 11 lakh 28 thousand 281. Among them, five lakh 33 thousand 680 male students and five lakh 94 thousand 601 female students. Total centers are 1 thousand 566 and total educational institutions are 4 thousand 870.
The number of candidates in Alim exam this time is 88 thousand 76 people. Among them, 47 thousand 592 students and 40 thousand 484 female students. Total centers are 452 and total educational institutions are 2 thousand 685.
The total number of candidates in HSC (BM/BMT) HSC (Vocational) /Diploma in Commerce (Technical) Board examination this year is two lakh 34 thousand 433. Among them, the number of students is one lakh 69 thousand nine and the number of female students is 65 thousand 424. A total of 707 centers and 1,908 educational institutions.
Compared to 2023, the total number of examinees in 2024 has increased by 91,448. Total institutions increased by 294, total centers increased by 67.
General Education Board Theory Exam will start from June 30 and end on August 11. The practical exam will start from 12th August and will end on 21st August. At the end of the press conference, in response to a question from the journalists, he said that there is no situation to stop the HSC examination in Sylhet as a result of the flood, the examination will be held there as well. If the flood situation worsens, the decision will be taken keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates.
The education minister said, even if you fail in two subjects in SSC and equivalent examination, you can get admission in HSC. But will not get full certificate; They will get mark sheet. He said that to get a full certificate, he will have to pass the examination in two subjects later.
