The decision was informed through a circular signed by the registrar of the university, Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir. According to the notification, the meeting has decided to start the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs from August 27. The previous unfinished exam will start on September 3. In this regard, concerned department heads will take necessary measures as per rules.
According to university sources, the university holiday was announced on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha on June 12.
Then classes started on June 22 in some departments. Later, teachers began a half-day strike on June 25 demanding the withdrawal of the universal pension scheme. All the academic activities of the university came to a standstill when the all-out teacher strike and quota reform movement started on July 1.
