The Liberation War Generation Council commented that the sudden attack by the Dhaka University Chhatra League on some students of Dhaka University’s Law Department while they were discussing the virtues and significance of fasting after praying at the Bangabandhu Tower Mosque was brutal.
Shahidul Islam Kabir, president of Liberation War Generation Council, said this in a statement sent to the media on Wednesday (March 13).
He said that the people of the country will not accept the attack due to religious discussion in the month of Quran revelation in Muslim-majority Bangladesh.
Shahidul Kabir said that if someone dislikes any activity of Islam, the phenomenon of tagging him as Jamaat-Shibir and militants has become a big disease.
Those who carry out barbaric attacks by tagging followers of Islam with Jamaat-Shibir and militant tags are actually terrorists and gangs involved in various crimes, he added.
Liberation Generation Council president said, freedom fighters did not take part in the great liberation war to hold their mouths and attack when talking about Islam. Today, it is one of the duties of the law enforcement agencies to find out whether religious innocent students who tag Jamaat-Shibir and militants for discussing Islam are actually terrorists or not.
