Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar issued a statement on August 10, calling for the resignation of judges with political identities in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and the High Court Division.
In the statement, he said, “The fascist government has destroyed the judiciary by installing privileged, incompetent, incompetent party people in the judiciary for the past 16 years. People have been deprived of their right to justice. Citizens of the country are deprived of justice. At present, the courts of the country are not able to work independently.
He also said in the statement that it has become necessary to establish rule of law, justice, equality and human rights in the country. It is not possible to ensure the rule of law and social justice by self-confessed sworn political judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and the High Court Division. Therefore, with the aim of establishing justice and social equality for the citizens of the country and so that the highest court of the country can work independently, I call for the immediate resignation of the judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and the High Court Division.”
