British Under-Secretary for Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS) Catherine West is coming to Dhaka on Saturday (November 16) for a two-day goodwill visit.
The British High Commission in Dhaka gave this information on Friday night (November 15).
It is known that this is the first visit of a senior representative of the UK government to Bangladesh after the formation of the interim government.
According to High Commission sources, during the greeting visit, he was the chief adviser. Pay a courtesy call on Muhammad Yunus. Apart from this, he said that he will also have a meeting with Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Tauhid Hossain.
In July this year, the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCO) appointed Catherine West as Under Secretary for Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS). He looked after China, North-East Asia, South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Ocean for the British Government.
It is to be noted that the then British Minister of State for Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS) Anne-Marie Trevelyan visited Dhaka in May this year. He visited Dhaka twice in a gap of one year.
