The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a charge sheet in the name of 5 people including former Superintendent of Police Subrata Kumar Halder in the case filed by the ACC in Madaripur police constable recruitment business. ACC recommended one person to be exempted in this incident.
Deputy Director of the ACC head office filed this complaint in Madaripur District and Sessions Judge Court on Thursday afternoon. Hafizur Rahman.
The accused are- former Superintendent of Police of Madaripur district Subrata Kumar Halder, former TSI Golam Rahman, former medical assistant of police hospital Piyas Bala, former constable Nuruzzaman Sumon, former constable Zahidul Islam. Apart from this, the ACC has recommended that another accused, Haider Farazi, son of the deceased Safyuddin Farazi of Ghatmazhi village of Madaripur Sadar Upazila, be acquitted.
ACC Madaripur office sources said that on May 28, 2019, the headquarters published a notification for the appointment of police constable. Later on June 26 of that year 31 men and 23 women were appointed as constables. Before this, a special team of the police headquarters recovered 73 lakh 50 thousand taka from the accused in several stages from 24 June to 26 June 2019. Later on investigation, the police headquarters came to know that the recovered money was taken from various job aspirants.
In this incident, on the recommendation of the police headquarters, the case was filed at the ACC’s Madaripur district office on July 5, 2023 by the deputy director of the head office. Hafizul Islam. 6 people were accused in the case.
ACC Madaripur District Office Assistant Director Md. Aktaruzzaman said on the mobile phone that the charge sheet has been filed in the court based on the evidence of multiple victims, witnesses and evidence of the case. All the accused are currently on bail. The ACC recommended the acquittal of one person for not guilty.
