BNP has called for national unity to all the parties and alliances of the simultaneous movement, left-right parties, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and other religious and Islamic political parties and organizations with minimum one-sided demands.
This unity was called for in a press release signed by the party’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday.
It is said to call for ‘national unity’ to unite all democratic political parties, social and cultural organizations and forces to demand the fall of the illegitimate, fascist government.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam said, in this critical moment of the nation, for the greater national interest, restoration of spoiled democracy and voting rights, liberation of the disenfranchised people and the nation, we united all the democratic political parties, social and cultural organizations, individuals and forces of the country on the basis of minimum one party and on the demand of one BNP. Addressing various parties, he said consent could be given through a statement due to time and communication constraints. A joint statement signed by all who agreed will be issued soon. This historic declaration and document of national unity will accelerate the liberation of the country and nation.
