Specific details of the question gaps have been found in the BCS cadre and non-cadre recruitment examination held under PSC. Many first class officials also got jobs by taking advantage of the leaked questions. Such sensational information is emerging in the statements of the accused arrested in the question-leaking case that stirred up the country. Out of this, the information of 33rd BCS written exam, 46th BCS preliminary exam, assistant engineer recruitment exam in Housing and Public Works Department, recruitment exam for junior instructor post of polytechnical college has been leaked. Finally, PSC office assistant Sajedul Islam Saju leaked the question papers for recruitment to the post of railway assistant assistant engineer post by cutting the lock of the trunk, said in the confession given to the court.
17 people, including two deputy directors of PSC and a former driver, have already been arrested on the charge of question paper leak. Six of them have given a statement in court. According to the police interrogation and the statement given in the court, at least four revenue officers got jobs due to question paper leaks. In the analog era, the members of the circle got jobs to two dozen sub-assistant engineers of the Housing and Public Works Department by leaving the exam seats next to the dummy candidates. The exam was postponed after PSC Dispatch Officer Khalilur Rahman was arrested with the leaked question paper of 33rd BCS. But Khalilur delivered the question papers to the job aspirants before the written examination through the gang members while sitting in jail. Three who got jobs in that question paper given by him are now BCS cadre.
PSC office assistant Sajedul Islam has been found to have taken Tk 1 crore 21 lakh by leaking the question paper in the latest railway engineer recruitment exam. Out of this, former driver of PSC Abed Ali gave 75 lakhs, Khalil 45 lakhs and businessman Abu Sulaiman Sohail gave 1 lakh taka. A few months ago, the question paper for the post of junior instructor of the polytechnic college was leaked by this gang.
Abed Ali, the former driver of PSC, said in his deposition that he drove the car of a chairman and two members of PSC. He used to bring and take officials to the office in the office microbus. At the beginning of the job, the job candidates could be allocated seats as they wished. The candidates used to contact Abed Ali in this regard. A job candidate was placed between two dummy candidates for one lakh rupees. In this way, Abed Chakra has got 20-25 jobs as Assistant Engineer in Housing and Public Works Directorate. He lost his job in 2013. In 2015, a member of the circle told him that he could get a job as a revenue officer under the National Board of Revenue. Each candidate has to pay Rs. 2 lakh in two phases. Out of the candidates given by him in that examination, 16 passed the preliminary and 9 passed the written examination. Later, four people got jobs. For this he has to pay 32 lakhs. A few months ago, Abed gave Tk 80 lakh to PSC office assistant Sajedul Islam Saju for the post of Junior Instructor of Polytechnical College. He made an agreement with 40 job candidates for 8 lakh taka. Two days before the commencement of the examination, the candidates were divided into two groups (20 each) and one group was taken to Al Amin’s residence in Malibag Chowdhurypara. Another group was kept in a house in Mirpur. Apart from this, he made an agreement of 8-10 lakh rupees with 44 candidates for the post of Assistant Railway Engineer. Taking advance money from them, two days before the exam, Sajedul paid Tk 75 lakh to Ramana Park gate and ‘boothed’ the candidates with question papers. That question was exactly matched in the exam.
The investigators said that after the arrest, Sajedul had received the question paper through Deputy Director of PSC Zafar for Tk 2 crore. Later he took all the responsibility of question paper leak.
In his deposition, Sajedul said that businessman Abu Solaiman Sohail of Dhaka’s Mirpur told him that the question paper of the 46th BCS preliminaries will be leaked. He was given 17 job candidates. Khalilur Rahman gave 12 of them. Out of those 17, 13 cleared the BCS prelims. Sajedul took 16 lakh taka from the candidates and gave 13 lakh taka to Sohail.
Sajedul said about the leak of railway question papers, he used a hex blade to cut the lock of the trunk containing the question papers. Then take out the question paper and put the broken lock. Which opens with any key. He said that Khalilur had given 45 lakh taka for 98 candidates for the railway examination. Abed Ali gave 75 lakhs. Apart from this, Abu Sulaiman Sohail gave 100,000 taka.
Dispatch officer of PSC Khalilur Rahman said during interrogation, he was arrested in front of Sakura bar in Ramna along with the question paper of 33rd BCS. Later the date of 33rd BCS written exam was changed. However, the question paper was leaked. From the jail, he contacted the gang member Delwar to the job aspirants. Delwar put the six candidates in touch with driver Abed Ali. Three of them became BCS cadre.
