On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, BGMEA and BKMEA claimed that May salary, bonus payment and Eid leave were given in 100% factories.
The Industrial Police has thanked the employers and workers organization for giving the same information about salary and bonus.
BGMEA said in a press release on Saturday that there are 2 thousand 160 active factories belonging to BGMEA in Dhaka and Chittagong. May salary has been paid in 100% factories. Festival allowance is also provided. BGMEA does not have any information about the payment of salaries and allowances.
In the notification, EPB, Chittagong Port, Chittagong Customs House, ICD Kamalapur, Dhaka Customs, Mongla Customs, Benapole Customs and Pangaon Customs House and Dhaka and Chittagong Bond Commissionerate, port, bank branches and others will be closed on public holidays to keep export and import activities of garment industry running. BGMEA thanked all concerned for keeping government institutions open.
On the other hand, Executive President of BKMEA Mohammad Hatim told Jugantar on Saturday that salary-Eid bonus has been given in 100% net factories belonging to BKMEA. 4 factories were having problems. Bonuses were also given to those factories with the help of the bank by evening.
The Industrial Police, through a press release, thanked BGMEA, BKMEA and BTMA for timely payment of salaries, bonuses and holidays to nearly 100 percent of industrial factories as per government decisions. At the same time, thanks have been given to the workers working in the factories along with the labor unions for their cooperation in keeping the law and order situation stable.
