The adviser said this while talking to reporters at the secretariat on Monday.
He said that the present government is determined to establish people’s rights, good governance and justice. Not only as a Home Advisor, but as a common citizen and ex-serviceman, I want justice for the BDR murder.
He also said that the full investigation and justice process of this murder will be started soon.
On February 25, 2009, a mutiny broke out in Pilkhana, the headquarters of the border guard force BDR (now Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB) in Dhaka. That day several hundred members of BDR carried out brutal killings in Pilkhana. 57 army officers including the then Director General of BDR Major General Shakeel Ahmed were killed in the rebellion which lasted for about two days. In all, 74 bodies were recovered.
Various organizations and the family members of the deceased soldiers have demanded a re-investigation of the killing.
