Bangladesh has signed the International Anti-Disappearance Charter of the United Nations to protect its citizens from disappearances.

Thursday (August 29) in the weekly meeting of the advisory council, the chief advisor professor. Muhammad Yunus signed the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.

Dr. in this regard. Yunus said, this is a historical event.

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Falker Turk may visit Dhaka in September. The agreement was signed a day before the International Day for Victims of Enforced Disappearance, ahead of the visit.

Earlier, last Tuesday (August 27) a commission was formed to investigate the number of disappearances by the security forces during the last 15 years of dictatorial rule of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
