A delegation of agitating university teachers held a meeting with Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. At the end of the meeting, there was a good discussion said the Secretary General of Bangladesh University Teachers Association Federation and President of DU Teachers Association Professor Dr. Md. Nizamul Haq Bhuiyan.
Today (Saturday) political office meeting of Awami League president started at Dhanmondi at 11 o’clock. The meeting ended at 1 pm.After the meeting, Nizamul Haque said that our three point demands were discussed. There was an open discussion. I will discuss with the Federation of Teachers Association and talk to the media.Regarding the ongoing strike of the teachers, he said, we will take a decision by talking to the federation in all the universities, talking to the teachers’ association, holding a meeting.Why did you come to discuss your demands with the government, political parties? In response to such question, he said, Awami League general secretary is a national leader. He sat with us on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
