The leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement announced a ‘Complete Shutdown’ program across the country on Thursday in protest against the indiscriminate attack by the police on the orders of the DU administration on the attack of the Chhatra League on the ongoing quota reform movement, the killing of ordinary students.
Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the organization, announced this program on his Facebook post on Wednesday (April 17) at 8:30 pm.
According to the program, tomorrow, Thursday, all except hospitals and emergency service institutions have been declared closed. Besides, it was also informed that no vehicle will run on the road without an ambulance.
It is said in the statement, “I am announcing ‘Complete Shutdown’ across the country tomorrow (July 18) to protest against the brutal attack of police, BGB, RAB, SWAT on the peaceful movement of the students, to protest the murder, to prosecute the murderers, to ensure a terror-free campus and to ensure a one-point demand.”
Calling all the institutions of the country to make the program successful, it is said, ‘Only hospitals and emergency services will not open the doors of any institution, no car will run on the road except for ambulances. I am calling on every school, college, university, private university, madrasa students across the country to make tomorrow’s program a success.
He also said, ‘I am telling our parents, we are your children. Stand by us, protect us. This fight is not only for the students, but for the vast masses of the country, regardless of party affiliation.
