The Ministry of Education has announced closure of all secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions (schools, colleges, madrasas and technical institutes) and polytechnic institutes until further orders.
Such instructions were announced in a circular on Tuesday (July 16) evening.
It is said that this decision has been taken considering the safety of school and college going students.
It is to be noted that clashes have occurred in different areas of the country on Tuesday and yesterday around the movement demanding reform of the quota system in government jobs. Six people were killed in clashes today in Dhaka, Chittagong and Rangpur.
The decision of the ministry came after this.
