The order to tie the flag high on the trawler moving in St. Martin
‘s own reporter said, BGB has asked to tie the flag of Bangladesh high on the trawler moving in St. Martin. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui informed this information. He said this in response to a question from journalists after the closing parade of the 101st recruit batch of BGB in Satkania, Chittagong yesterday afternoon.
He said that fierce fighting is going on between Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) and rebel groups in the area along the Naf River. When there is a war between one or two groups, there may be side-to-side shooting as well. Some of the shells went around, some went to the trawler. We have informed both sides in Myanmar, that no further incident(s) should happen to our trawler. So we are making sure that the trawlers going through that direction (St. Martin) fly the Bangladesh flag high. There will be no problem in that case.
According to him, BGB is determined to protect the integrity of the country and security at the border at any cost. As much as heard or said by many about Saint Martin, they are really rumours. Many people are trying to spread misinformation about St. I myself have been to St. Martin. A warning has been given to the BGB members there.
