Interim government chief advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is constantly monitoring the flood situation and directed the members of the advisory council to stand by the flood affected people.
He gave this instruction at the advisory council meeting held at the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna on Thursday.
In the evening, the press secretary of the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam said in a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy, the flood situation was discussed in detail in the Cabinet meeting and Dr. Yunus asked the members of the advisory council to visit the flood affected areas. He said that 10 districts were affected by floods and lastly 3.6 lakh people were affected by floods. He mentioned that the advisers will visit these districts to stand by the poor people. Citing the Directorate of Meteorology, Shafiqul Alam said that the flood situation has arisen due to heavy rains for a long time.
