Today is the first rally of BNP in Nayapaltan after the collapse of the ruling Awami League for four consecutive terms. The leaders and workers of BNP are taking a procession in front of Nayapaltan party’s central office around the centrally announced rally.
Since Wednesday morning, activists have been seen coming from different wards and police stations of Dhaka. The stage has already been set. Meanwhile, Mike has been drawn to the area around Nayapaltan centering on the rally. The Quran is being recited on the mic.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman will address the gathering as the chief guest. Also, the party’s general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other central leaders will speak.
Before the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, the leaders and activists of the BNP had to suffer none of the same harassment and obstruction that they used to face in the rallies. Likewise, the activities of the law and order forces were not seen in Nayapaltan and its surroundings.
