Adviser on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Nahid Islam said action will be taken against the officials involved in shutting down the internet during the recent student protests.
He uttered this warning while talking to journalists on the first day at his office in the Secretariat on Sunday (August 11).
Nahid Islam said, ‘Those responsible for shutting down the internet during the protest must suffer the consequences. Internet access is a right and disrupting or shutting down Internet services is a violation of human rights.’
The advisor said that the Information and Communication Technology Department has taken plans to include youth participation to fulfill the aspirations of the younger generation.
