Sangram Online: Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘Awami League’s ministers-MPs and allies have committed so many crimes that now they are not getting shelter even in the forest. Now there is no escape from hiding in canals. Many of them have already been judged for their sins.’
He visited the flood affected area in Kulaura upazila on Saturday (August 24) afternoon and distributed gifts among the affected people.
Earlier, Jamaat Amir said in a meeting in Tillagao market of the upazila, ‘The river dam is broken every year for thieves. The river was not dug due to the fact that crores of rupees allocated in the past went into the pockets of thieves. So almost every year the river dam breaks and floods occur. And people’s lives are being damaged.’
Neighboring India is also responsible for the current floods. During the dry season they hold back the water with dams and during the monsoon they release the water and flood Bangladesh. It will not be allowed to continue. If necessary, the matter will go to the international court. No one’s zamindari will continue,’ he said.
Jamaat Amir also said, ‘Bangladesh of 18 crore people is a country of harmony. All religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity are present here. No evil force can destroy this recently.’
Nation cannot be divided on the basis of numbers, minorities. We will rebuild this country together,’ he said.
Jamaat Amir said, ‘How did the Himalayas collapse on August 5, how did it change? We say everything is possible with the will of Allah.’
He said, ‘Awami League’s ministers-MPs and associates have committed so many crimes that they are not getting shelter even in the forests. Now there is no escape from hiding in canals. Many of them have already been judged for their sins. There will be more in the future.’
He said to the party’s leaders and workers, ‘The tyrannical government left on the 5th. We will form the country now. I will help to maintain the law and order situation. They are getting a lesson for what the Chhatra League and the police have done in the past. Killed 11 of our leaders. The businesses, houses of our party leaders were looted and bulldozed. Jamaat-e-Islami was persecuted the most by the tyrannical Awami government. That’s how they fell. Even then, you will not retaliate. We don’t want one tyranny after another.’
He said, ‘My native Kulaura is not good today. Everything is under water. There is no place to bury dead people. Water and water everywhere.’
He regretted his late arrival in Kulaura due to his visit to various areas to condole the family members of the anti-quota movement martyrs and a meeting with the Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad in Dhaka.
