Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Amir and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued a statement on June 20 expressing deep concern over the overall flood situation in the greater Sylhet region.
In the statement, he said, “I am deeply concerned about the overall flood situation in the Sylhet region due to the hill slopes coming down from the upstream and continuous heavy rains.” I strongly demand the government to quickly rescue the people trapped in the water and shelter them in a safe place and to send various food items including dry food, cash, medicine and medical supplies and medical teams to the affected areas.
