Sheikh Hasina left the country by resigning on August 5 in the face of intense student movement. Before that, BNP has written to the United Nations asking for an investigation into the ‘genocide’ that happened in Bangladesh. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the standing committee of the party, and Shama Obaid, the party’s organizing secretary, handed over this letter on behalf of the BNP to the United Nations’ Dhaka office in Gulshan on Tuesday afternoon.
At that time, Amir Khosru told reporters that there has been a massacre in Bangladesh under an illegal government. Citizens of the country have been killed. The UN has been requested for an impartial international investigation of these incidents. The murders and disappearances that have taken place need to be uncovered. No one should dare to do such an incident in Bangladesh in the coming days.
This member of the BNP Standing Committee also said that there was no such thing as law in the country. Now it is slowly coming back. The genocide that took place was abhorred by the whole world and the whole world protested against these events. The nation must be de-stigmatized through a transparent and impartial investigation of international standards.
Amir Khosru said, if these things are not highlighted, dictatorship and such a fascist government will come in the future and will try to stay in power by murdering the people of Bangladesh. BNP wants to end it forever.
In response to the question whether the ‘genocide’ Sheikh Hasina has the right to return to the country and do politics, Khosru said that it is their own decision whether to return or not. But there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that ‘genocide’ will be tried.
