Hefazat sees India as fueling fear among minorities

Hefazet Islam sees India’s help in jeopardizing the security of minorities in Bangladesh. The party says that since Sheikh Hasina fled India in the face of a popular uprising, some anti-Muslim media and politicians in that country have been spreading rumors that minorities are being attacked in Bangladesh. As an effect of that, fear has spread among the minorities of this country. India’s fuel is behind all this.

These things were said in a statement signed by Amir Allama Muhibbullah Babunagari and Secretary General Allama Sajedur Rahman of Hefazat Islam on Sunday.

In this, they said, India’s plot has failed as the local students and crowds came forward quickly in every area to protect the property and places of worship of the minorities. The minorities in Bangladesh enjoy much more benefits and security than in India. On the other hand, the extent to which the minority Muslim community in India is subjected to state torture, discrimination and planned riots is untold. We call on India to change its discriminatory state policies and practices towards the minority Muslim community. We the people are ensuring the safety of the minorities. In this regard, I strongly condemn the Indian fuel to melt India’s nose and destabilize Bangladesh.
