National elections should be held as soon as possible. Power should be transferred to the people’s representatives as soon as possible,’ claimed BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman.

Tariq Rahman made this claim by joining the BNP’s general meeting in Nayapaltan on Wednesday.

Congratulating the students, he said that the door of democracy has been opened. Appeal to the administration to ensure law and order with strong hands. No one should feel insecure because of religion, caste. Whether Mulman, Hindu, Christian Buddhist, stand as a shield in his safety. Our first identity is that we are Bangladeshis.

Calling upon the police to cooperate in fulfilling their duties, Tariq Rahman said that the police is not the enemy of the people. Genocide Hasina has made the law and order forces as enemies of the people. Most police officers try to fulfill their duties according to the rules of service.

He said, stop attacks against police or religious minorities. Anyone using the name of BNP should be handed over to the law. A call to the countrymen, no one should take the law into his own hands.

Stating that anarchy against anarchy is not a solution, Tariq Rahman said, we must move forward in harmony with the world. The country should be taken out of import dependence or foreign debt dependence. Export scope should be increased at any cost. Skilled and talented generation should be created. Tariq Rahman urged everyone to come forward to establish equality, human dignity and social justice as the motto of the liberation war.

Earlier, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also congratulated the protesting students and said that our students are performing their duties with great maturity.

Calling everyone to maintain peace and order, Alamgir said, “Our leaders and workers do not engage in vandalism and vandalism. You shall not engage in fire-fire. Those who are involved are the enemies of the country, action will be taken against them. Mentioning that the leaders and activists have been victims of torture for sixteen years, he urged them to play a role in the development of the country.

Fakhrul said, autocracy has fled, their friends have also fled. May they never come back.
