Bangladeshi youth injured in BSF firing in Feni

A Bangladeshi youth named Shipon was injured in firing by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Parashuram border in Feni.

The incident took place on Tuesday (July 9) around 11 pm in the area of ​​pillar number 6612 bordering Baurpathar village.

He is the son of late Ali Newaz of Baurpathar village of Parashuram municipality.

Local residents admitted the injured Shipon to Parashuram Upazila Health Complex. After primary treatment there, he was admitted to a private hospital.

Khorshed Alam, a local councilor of Parashuram municipality, said that around 11 pm, a few gunshots were suddenly heard. Shipon was later found shot in the leg.

Lt. Col. Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoza, the captain of 4 BGB in Fenistha, said that he heard that a Bangladeshi youth was shot dead by BSF firing. The matter is being investigated. It is not legal to shoot someone in the border area even if they are involved in the crime of smuggling.
