The anti-discrimination student society has announced a new program to implement a one-time program to demand cancellation of quota. According to the programme, a total blockade program will be held across the country next Wednesday. Also online and offline mass communication will continue tomorrow Tuesday along with class-examination boycott.

Nahid Islam, one of the co-ordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, announced this program at Shahbagh on Monday (July 8) at 8:30 pm at Dhaka University and nearby important points. He said that a press conference will be held tomorrow at 3 pm and the overall program will be announced on Wednesday.

When the all-out ‘Bangla Blockade’ begins, it is announced that all important places in the country will be blocked for the whole day on Wednesday.

Earlier, at 3:30 in the afternoon, the students started the Bangla blockade program in front of the central library of the university. Later, around 4:30 pm, the students blockaded Bangla at Kantaban, Mintu Road, Matsya Bhavan, Chankharpool, Bangla Motor, Karwan Bazar, Farmgate in the capital. Due to this, the traffic of the surrounding roads was stopped.

The current one-point demand announced by the students is that the quota system should be amended by passing a law in the parliament by abolishing all kinds of unreasonable and discriminatory quotas in all grades and bringing the quota to the minimum level for the backward groups mentioned in the constitution.
