PSC question paper leaked: 7 people including Abed Ali are confessing

 Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) 10 people, including three officials, have been arrested and sent to jail for allegedly leaking question papers. On Tuesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque ordered to send them to jail.

However, seven people, including Syed Abed Ali, the former driver of the PSC chairman, are ready to testify under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. They are waiting to testify.

The other 6 accused who are ready to testify are PSC office assistant Khalilur Rahman, office assistant Sajedul Islam, former student of DU and currently Mirpur businessman Abu Solaiman Md. Sohail, business brothers Sakhawat Hossain, Saim Hossain and Liton Sarkar. 

At around 1 o’clock, 17 accused were produced in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka. The investigating officer of the case CID Inspector Jewel Chakma applied to record the statements of 7 persons. They have been sent to different judges’ chambers.

The investigation officer requested to keep the other 10 people in jail. Those 10 people are deputy director of PSC. Abu Jafar and Md. Jahangir Alam, assistant director SM Alamgir Kabir, former army member Noman Siddiqui, auditor Priyanath Roy, businessman Md. Zahidul Islam, security guard of Narayanganj passport office, Shahadat Hossain, working in Dhaka’s immigration and passport office. Mamunur Rashid, Medical Technician of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital. Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, son of Niamun Hasan and Abed Ali. These 10 people have been sent to jail after the hearing.

Syed Abed Ali’s posts on Facebook started going viral after a private television channel published an investigative report against PSC on the leak of BCS question papers last Sunday night.

Later, CID arrested 17 people by raiding different places. After the arrest, they admitted to the police that they were involved in leaking the question papers.

In this incident, after 12 o’clock on Monday night, CID police SI Nippon Chandra Chand filed a case under the Bangladesh Public Works Commission Act at Paltan Model Police Station as the plaintiff.

It is alleged in the case that the accused in connivance with each other leaked and distributed the question papers before the examination held on July 5 for the post of Bangladesh Railway Sub Assistant Engineer organized by PSC. They leaked the question paper in exchange of huge amount of money.

It is also said in the statement that this dishonest circle is involved in leaking the question papers of various recruitment exams of PSC. A total of 31 people have been accused in the statement. Apart from this, 50-60 unidentified people have been accused.

Fugitive 14: PSC former assistant director Nikhil Chandra Roy, Md. Shariful Islam Bhuiyan, Deepak Vanik, Khorshed Alam Khokon, Kazi Md. Sumon, AKM Golam Parvez, Mehdi Hasan Khan, Mohammad Golam Hamidur Rahman, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Atiqul Islam, ATM Mustafa, Mahfuz Kalu, Aslam and Kaushik Debnath.

Submission of inquiry report on September 4: The next day of September 4 has been fixed for submission of inquiry report in this case. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury fixed this date after presenting the statement of the case.
