Bangla blockade across the country to demand cancellation of quota

The protesting students will hold ‘Bangla Blockade’ program today to demand abolition of quota in government jobs. 

The main blockade movement will be started in front of the Central Library of Dhaka University on Monday (July 8) at 3:30 pm.

Apart from this, students will start this Bangla blockade program in all public universities and colleges across the country at the same time. At the same time, it was also announced that the class-examination boycott program would be suspended indefinitely.

Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the movement, said that our movement will continue. Blockade program will be held across the country on Monday, not four-point, but one-point demand.

One point demand is that the quota system should be amended by passing a law in the parliament by abolishing all kinds of unreasonable and discriminatory quotas in all grades and bringing the quota to the minimum level for the backward groups mentioned in the constitution.

Earlier, large parts of Dhaka came to a standstill on Sunday due to the Bengali blockade. City dwellers suffer from traffic jams. Apart from this, students have blocked roads and highways and protested in various universities and important areas of the country.
