Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan said that Jamaat is always on the side of the people in humanitarian work.

He said, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is working for the welfare of the people. Jamaat-e-Islami is always with the people in humanitarian work. The goal of Jamaat’s activity is to build a safe, justice-based and prosperous Bangladesh.

He said these things at the Jamaat’s financial assistance and exchange meeting to the families of those killed and injured in the fire at Riazuddin Bazaar of Satkania Upazila of Chittagong district on Tuesday (July 2). Satkania Upazila Amir Maulana Kamal Uddin presided over and Upazila Secretary Tarek Hossain conducted this exchange meeting with the victims.

In the speech of the chief guest, Maulana Shahjahan said, Condolences to the families of those killed in Chittagong Riazuddin Bazar. The pain of losing a loved one is not to be filled with anything. However, we have come up with financial support from our position, so that the families do not fall into immediate financial distress. We also wish the injured a speedy recovery.

Central Majlish Shura Member and Chittagong Zonal Team Member Zafar Sadek, Chittagong Metropolitan Amir and former MP Shahjahan Chowdhury, Central Majlish Shura Member and South District Amir Anwarul Alam Chowdhury, Central Co-Editor of Sramik Kalyan Federation and Chittagong Metropolitan President SM Lutfar Rahman were special guests.

Muhammad Shahjahan said, Riyazuddin Bazar is one of the largest business centers of Chittagong city, which is famous for its commercial capital. But the security system of a populous and important business center like Riazuddin Bazar is very fragile. Effective and quick measures should be taken to ensure the security of this business center. Riazuddin Bazar should be divided into separate units and security measures should be maintained separately. Only then businessmen and workers will feel safe from the fear of accidents. We call on all concerned authorities, including the City Corporation, to take immediate and effective measures to ensure a safe and fear-free working environment.
