Joint Secretary General of BNP, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, said that the country’s democracy will be released if the country’s leader Begum Khaleda Zia is released. People will be freed. Khaleda Zia has been imprisoned by the government with a case and sentence. Khaleda has seized power by holding Zia hostage. Khaleda Zia is sick and in a coma. They are trying to kill him by slow poising. The responsibility of this should be borne by the current Prime Minister.
He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the Khulna Metropolitan and District BNP rally in front of the BNP office at KD Ghosh Road as part of the central program demanding the unconditional release of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at 4 pm on Monday.
Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie called upon the leaders and activists to be united for the movement in the future and said that preparations must be made for the movement from now. Begum Khaleda Zia must be freed through a united movement. If Khaleda Zia was free, the illegal contract of the railway line would not have happened on the chest of the country. There was no corruption and misrule in the country. There was no dictatorship. If he were free, the people’s government would be in power through universal suffrage.
Recalling the 25-year slavery agreement signed with India in 1972, he further said that after 52 years, the agreements made under the guise of agreement with India on June 22 will make Bangladesh a slave of India for life. As a result, the national security of Bangladesh is threatened. Through these MoUs, the issue of defense and national security of our country has become a part of India’s national defense and security, which is very dangerous and a threat to the independence of the country. It is contrary to the principle of peaceful coexistence and non-alignment. Through these compromise agreements, Sheikh Hasina wants to give Bangladesh an opportunity to use India as a security strategic ‘buffer state’ in regional geopolitics. As a result, Bangladesh will definitely get involved in the complexities of regional geopolitical rivalry.
Annie said, there is no alternative way before us except to free Khaleda Zia through movement.
