Jamaat mourns the death of poet Asad bin Hafiz

In a condolence message on Monday, the city leaders said, poet Asad bin Hafiz was a traditional, famous, religious, revolutionary poet and writer. He was the proverbial icon of Islamic literature and culture. Late Ekadhar is a rare literary genius of Bengali literature, eminent cultural organiser, rhymer and publisher. Many of his books, Islamic songs and poems have been instrumental in inspiring the new generation in Islamic consciousness and asserting their self-identity. We are deeply saddened by the passing away of this literary personality who was always smiling, lively, simple, humble and unassuming.

It is also said that the vacuum created by his death in the Islamic literary and cultural movement and the ahi-based literary arena is not easily filled. The metropolitan northern leaders expressed hope that the new generation would get inspiration from his revolutionary and spiritualist writings to follow the path of truth, beauty and goodness.

The leaders prayed for the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased and prayed to Allah Almighty to give him Jannat al-Maqam. They expressed their deepest condolences to his bereaved family members and wished them patience.
