18 killed in multiple suicide attacks in Nigeria

At least 18 people were killed and 19 seriously injured in multiple suicide attacks in northeastern Nigeria on Saturday. Emergency services said.

A spokesman for the country’s police said one of the three attacks was carried out at a wedding in the city of Gwaja. A woman with a child strapped to her back explodes in the middle of a wedding ceremony.

Other attacks were carried out at a hospital and a wedding ceremony.

The Borno state emergency management agency said at least 18 people were killed and 42 injured in the attacks.

The head of the organization, Barkindo Saido, said that among the dead were women, men and children, including pregnant women. 19 seriously injured people have been taken to the hospital.

t should be noted that Boko Haram militants captured the city of Gwoza in 2014. The Nigerian military later recaptured Gwoza in 2015 with the assistance of Chadian forces. However, since then, Boko Haram has continued its attacks in the region.

More than 40,000 people have been killed and nearly two million displaced in the violence so far.

Not only in Nigeria, the violence has spread to Niger, Cameroon and Chad.
