Tensions are high between the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah and Israel. Fears of a larger war are growing in response to counter-attacks. According to US intelligence, a full-scale conflict between Israel and Hezbollah could begin within weeks if no ceasefire agreement is reached in Gaza. But the US wants an Israel-Hezbollah deal to avoid a Lebanon war.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said it attacked a military base of the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah. In the last few hours, the Zionist forces claimed that various targets of Hezbollah have been attacked in the southern part of Lebanon.

In a statement posted on social media, Israeli forces said they attacked a Hezbollah military base in the Jibkin area. Israel also admitted to attacking several installations in the Khayyam and Hula areas and a military base in the Odeissah area.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations has previously warned Israel of consequences if Israel launches a full-scale offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon amid tense relations.

Israel has recently declared an all-out war against Hezbollah. In the meantime, the country’s Defense Forces (IDF) authorized and authorized the attack on Lebanon. But Israel has been warned against this by its two allies, the United States and Germany. Turkey also warned.

The US, Germany and Türkiye have all expressed concern over Israel’s plans.

Recently, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said during his visit to Washington that his country does not want war in Lebanon. However, if diplomatic efforts fail, Hezbollah will be ‘exterminated’.

He said, ‘We don’t want war, but we are preparing for all situations. Hezbollah understands very well that if a war breaks out, we can wreak havoc in Lebanon.’

The Palestinian independence organization Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 last year. In response, Israel continues to carry out devastating attacks on Gaza. Since then, tensions between the mainly Lebanese armed group Hezbollah and Israel began to rise. Regular small skirmishes occur between the two sides on the border. Gallant claims Israel has killed more than 400 Hezbollah members in recent months.
