A young woman (19) has been accused of rape in Chittagong-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet. Railway police have arrested three people in this incident. Besides, the train director (guard) Abdur Rahim has been temporarily suspended by the railways. The incident happened around 4:30 am on Wednesday.
However, the incident came to light later this evening. The Udayan Express train left Sylhet for Chittagong at 10 pm on Tuesday. It reached Chittagong around 8 am on Wednesday.

The arrested are – Md. Jamal (27), Md. Sharif (28) and Md. Rashed (27). They are employees of SA Corporation, a train catering company.
According to railway police sources, a 19-year-old girl was coming to Chittagong by Udayan Express. The young woman got up from Bhairav and took a position in the food compartment. At that time, some employees of the catering company started harassing him in various ways. They raped the young woman one step at a time.
Chittagong Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Shahidul Islam told Samakal that three people have been arrested on the charge of raping a young woman in the food compartment. Later they were sent to jail through the court.
They have been remanded for seven days for questioning. The young woman is in police custody. He will be sent to One Stop Crisis Center of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Chittagong railway station manager Mohammad Moniruzzaman told Samakal that he heard the incident of rape in the train. But no one complained to us in writing. Abdur Rahim, the guard of the train, was temporarily suspended after learning about the matter on Wednesday evening.
