He said these things after paying tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu at number 32 of Dhanmondi in the capital on the 75th founding anniversary of Awami League on Sunday.
Obaidul Quader said, on the birthday of our party, our pledge is to consolidate the victory gained with our blood. The main obstacle in our way is the racist BNP. In the name of liberation war, these color thieves make a joke. Communal and militant enemies are our common enemies today.
He also said, today is our pledge – we have to defeat this evil power today. We will build Smart Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. This is today’s oath.
Earlier at 7 am on the occasion of Awami League’s 75th founding anniversary, party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the portrait of the father of the nation at Dhanmondi. After that, Sheikh Hasina stood silently for a while. Later, other leaders of the party also paid their respects.
