Azizul Mallik (57) and Nilufa Begum (42) husband and wife died of electrocution while trying to save their daughter in Chidarchar village of Jazira upazila of Shariatpur district.
The doctor on duty declared them dead when they were taken to the Tongibari Upazila Health Complex of Munshiganj district around 10 pm on Saturday.
Deceased Aziz Mallick is the son of deceased Haji Nazim Uddin Mallick of Mallick house of Chidarchar area of Jazira police station.
According to Tongibari police sources, when Azizul Mallick’s daughter Mim (13) screamed after touching the electric wire hanging inside the kitchen, mother Nilufa Begum and father Aziz Mallik rushed to save her. Later the girl survived, but Mim’s father and mother were seriously injured by electrocution.
Locals rescued them and took them to Tongibari Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead. In this incident, the Tongibari Thana police prepared a report on the condition of the dead bodies.
