An NGO worker named Kamresh Sarkar (42) was killed when an auto-rickshaw overturned in Gocha Bazar of Mohanpur Upazila of Rajshahi. He is the son of Adhir Chandra Sarkar of Raipur area of Manda upazila of Naogaon.
Kamresh was returning home after being invited to his in-laws’ house in Kamargaon of Tano Upazila. According to Mohanpur police sources, the accident took place on the Kesharhat-Kamargaon road of Mohanpur upazila on Thursday evening.
According to the police, Kamresh was a passenger in an autorickshaw going from Kamargaon to Kesharhat. On the way, the autorickshaw overturned in Gochabazar area. At that time Kamresh was seriously injured.
On receiving the information, the fire service personnel rescued Kamresh and admitted him to Mohanpur Upazila Health Center where he died during the night. A UD case has been filed in Mohanpur police station in this regard. Kamresh’s body was handed over to the family without an autopsy.
