A 4-year-old boy named Ankan Talukdar died after drowning while taking a bath in a pond in Madaripur’s Rajair. At the same time, another 4-year-old girl named Swapna was injured.
The incident took place in Lakhanda village of Amgram union of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased child Ankan is the son of Harichad Talukdar of the same village.
According to family sources, two children Swapna and Ankan went to bathe in a pond near the house without informing the family members. At this time, another child saw both of them drowning. Later, when the family members were informed, they were rescued from the water and taken to the Rajoi Upazila Health Complex. At that time, the doctor on duty declared Ankan dead and Swapna was admitted with serious injuries.
