A child named Tuhin Pramanik (5) has gone missing after going to the river with his mother a day before Eid in Goaland Upazila of Rajbari. On Sunday around 4:30 pm, the child fell into the Padma river and drowned in Ferighat No. 5 area of Daulatdia Union of Golanda Upazila.
The missing Tuhin Pramanik is the son of Amirul Pramanik of that area.
Local resident Sohel Rana said that in the afternoon, the child’s mother bathed him and made him stand on the bank of the river while playing on the bank of the river while washing clothes, suddenly the child fell into the river and drowned.
Then the locals went down to the river to search for him, but no trace of him was found. Later, Gowland Fire Service was informed and they started searching.
In this regard, the station officer of Gowaland Upazila Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Royal Ahmed told Jugantar that since we do not have divers here, the diving team from Aricha Fire Station is working to rescue the child.
