Eid-ul-Azha has been celebrated in advance in 11 villages in Laxmipur along with Saudi Arabia. Eid prayer congregation was held at Talimul Quran Noorani madrasa ground in South East Noagaon of Ramganj upazila at 10 am on Sunday.
It was led by Hazrat Maulana Mufti Aminul Islam Khan. He is working as a senior teacher in Motijheel Ideal School and College, Dhaka. Until 2016, his father late Maulana Neshar Ahmad used to lead the Eid congregation here.
On the same day, about a thousand Muslims of 11 villages including Paschim Noagaon of Ramganj Upazila, Bolora, Bigha, Hotatia, Sarashai, Kanpur of Jaipura, Jahangir Tower of Ramganj Municipality and Kalakopa of Bamni UP of Raipur Upazila and Bashikpur Village of Sadar celebrated Eid-ul-Azha.
As followers of Maulana Ishaq (ra), the people of these areas have been celebrating all religious festivals, including Eid, in harmony with the holy land of Mecca and Medina. The Muslims of these villages have been celebrating Eid together with Saudi Arabia for the past 36 years.
Maulana Mufti Aminul Islam Khan said that according to the Hanafi school, the first sighting of the moon should be observed and Eid is being celebrated in that light.
