Another death due to corona after one month

Earlier, on May 18 and April 18, two people each died of Corona. With this, 19 people died of corona this year.

According to the notification, in the last 24 hours (from 8 am yesterday Friday morning to 8 am today) samples of 309 people suspected of corona have been tested. 13 of them were found to be infected with corona virus. They are all residents of Dhaka.

So far, 20 lakh 50 thousand 820 people have been diagnosed with corona infection in the country. Among them, 20 lakh 18 thousand 152 people have recovered including 18 people in the last 24 hours. 29 thousand 496 people have died among the affected people.

In Bangladesh, in the middle of last January, a patient infected with a subtype of corona micron type JN.1 was detected. The World Health Organization called JN.1 a ‘variant of interest’ due to its rapid spread.

On March 8, 2020, the government announced the detection of the first coronavirus-infected patient in the country. The first death due to Corona was reported on March 18 of that year. Three years later, in May last year, the World Health Organization announced the withdrawal of the global emergency issued due to Corona.
