Fishermen’s League leader killed by drum truck in Faridpur

A motorcycle riding Fishermen’s League leader was killed after being hit by a drum truck in Faridpur’s Boalmari upazila. The accident took place on Majhkandi-Bhatiapara regional highway in Banchaki area of ​​Baikhir upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The name of the deceased youth is Mritul Kazi (32). He was a resident of Sotasi village of Boalmari Sadar Union and president of Boalmari Union Fishermen’s League. He drove a jute mill pickup.

According to police and local sources, around 12:30 noon today, Mritul Kazi was going to Sahasrail Bazar area of ​​Shekhar Union of Boalmari Upazila by riding a motorcycle. When Baikhir reached Banchaki area, a brick-laden drum truck coming from the opposite direction hit his motorcycle. In this, the deceased Kazi fell from the motorcycle into the ditch on the side of the Sitke road. When the dead Kazi was rescued and taken to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

He died before being brought to the hospital, said Shakila Azad, the doctor on duty at the Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalmari Police Station. Shahidul Islam said that the police went to the spot after receiving the news of the accident. The police also went to the hospital and inquired. Legal action will be taken in this case.
