The police recovered the body of the newborn from in front of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. On Friday morning, after receiving a call from the National Emergency Service-999, the police went to the spot and recovered the body of the newborn.
Police say that someone left the body of a newborn in a bag in front of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The dog was pulling the bag. A person then saw and called the National Emergency Service.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Shahbagh Police Station Mohammad Salim said that around 10:30 am they received information that a bag was recovered from the garbage on the pavement opposite the gate of the emergency department of the hospital. Later, the body of the newborn (girl) was found inside that bag.
This police officer said that efforts are being made to identify who or who left the newborn in this way.
