A teenager named Abdul Motaleb Mia (18) died due to electrocution in Ishwarganj of Mymensingh.
The accident happened on Wednesday (June 12) morning.
Abdul Motaleb is the son of Nazrul Islam of Sanchapur village of Sadar Union of Upazila.
According to local sources, Motaleb entered the water to release fish fry in the fishery of Biblab Mia, son of Noor Islam Bepari of the same village. At that time, the electricity cable was lying under the water of the fishery. Abdul Motaleb’s leg got stuck in that torn wire and he was electrocuted and died on the spot. Later, the family members rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
SI Anwar Hossain of Ishwarganj Police Station said that the body was handed over to the family for burial as there was no complaint regarding death due to electrocution.
